| The Bible says, “Jesus
did not let him, but said, ‘Go home to your family and tell them
how he has had mercy on you.’ So the man went away and began to
tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people
were amazed” (Mark 5:19,20).
You can take Jesus to others by telling them what God has done for you.
Good news is naturally shared.
Is there anyone you know who would
be happy that you have trusted Christ?
To witness for Christ also involves confessing Christ
before others.
Jesus said, "Whoever
acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father
in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before
my Father in heaven." (Matthew
10:32-33)
We should not be ashamed of our
Jesus.
To witness for Christ also involves
believer's baptism.
Jesus was baptized by John in the Jordan River. In this
act, Jesus identified himself with us. You are baptized to identify yourself
with Jesus. Through baptism you confess to others your faith in Christ.
Jesus commands all believers to follow in baptism after trusting him for
eternal life.
"Therefore go and make disciples
of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded
you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
(Matthew 28: 19, 20)
Later, the apostle Peter was preaching the good news of
Jesus Christ. The people saw their need for salvation. They asked Peter
what they needed to do. Peter replied, "Repent
and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the
forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
(Acts 2:38)
Will you follow in obedience to Christ
and participate in believers' baptism? |
