O-the “o” stands for outcome. The outcome of sin is death.
The Bible says, “For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23).
Wages is what we earn and deserve. If you were hired to work
one day for $100, your wages would be $100 after you had completed the work.
You earned and deserved that money. In the case of sin, death is what we have
earned and deserve for sinning.
You’re probably wondering, “Well, everyone dies, so
what’s the big deal?” The word “death” here does not mean physical death. This
“spiritual death” is unimaginable suffering that begins at physical death and
lasts forever. Doesn’t sound very fun, does it?
